I switched my home loan in 2005 because I had a problem with Standard Bank whom I have been dealing with since 1999. They pre-approved a home loan for me when I moved from Tongaat to New Germany. I was a high risk person as I had a cardiac problem since 2002. I had to do a medical examination with my cardiologist and all the results showed that I was at high risk. Standard Bank refused to insure me for the bond. I then decided to contact SA Home Loans who in turn advised me that it was no problem to insure the bond but I had a waiting period of 2 years for pre-existing condition. The 2 years has now passed since 2007 and I am happy to state that I will have no problems with my bond if I ever have a heart attack.
