In 2005/2006 my husband, an extremely healthy male was diagnosed with Lymphoma stage 4. I remember when getting home from the hospital after the diagnosis I made a list of what I needed to do and one of these items was to sell the house. Nevertheless, despite being on medical aid, there were amounts which needed to be paid. I re-bonded the house and was able to concentrate on hubby rather than on financial issues. I found the rates were the most competitive. Despite the fact that he was medically boarded and still unable to find a permanent job, I am able to afford the monthly repayments which I would not have been able to do had my bond been elsewhere. I also have taken 3 advances because I could afford the repayments. So my payoff line is "I did not have to sell my largest investment; hubby is a recovering cancer patient (not always so easy); financially things have not been easy but with the knowledge that one has a home (not house) is most inspiring. Thank you SAHL you touched me and assisted when I needed it the most.
