I had planned to buy my house in 2019. I had been a tenant in the house that is now mine for about five years when the owner called me for the very first time. We always communicated either via whatsapp or email. I was so terrified and thought that she wanted to evict me. I answered the call and lied that I was in a meeting. She then dropped me an sms and requested me to pass by her residence. When I got there I was literally trembling. She broke the news that they had decided to sell. Tears rolled down my heart and I asked when she expected me to move out. To my surprise, she was shocked that I wanted to move out. She told me she expected me to buy it!!! With renewed vigour, feeling like a 16 year old, I went online and applied for a loan - as they say, the rest is history. I have now been resident in the same house for almost 6 years, first as a tenant and now as the proud owner.
