I’m holding my tears back as I type this. So, this is my story. I grew up in a small township in Pretoria, I was just a little girl with a dream. My ultimate dream was to make my mother happy. I lost my dad at the age of 9, my mom lost her best friend, her partner, her shield, and above all, her baby daddy. I am the only child, and the responsibility to make my mom proud and happiness was all on my shoulders.

All she ever wanted was a home with a yard where she could grow a beautiful garden and all she knew was an RDP house where we shared everything including the washing line. She gave up her life to put me through good schools so that I could better myself. Little did she realize that while she was doing it for me, I was doing it for her.
 To cut a long story short, I got my dream job, but never for a day did I imagine that I would qualify for a home loan. That was considered a luxury where I come from. We thought only the rich could own bonded houses. LOL, that’s what we called them 'BOND HOUSES’. Shu this was a heavy word to swallow. My new addiction was to browse through property sites admiring houses that I could never afford, oh to rephrase that, houses I “THOUGHT” I could never afford.
