From R17000.00 to R1.3 million I was allocated a council house in 1984 consisting of 2 small rooms, kitchen, lounge, toilet/bathroom on a very big piece of land. In 1990 we were given an option by the Government to purchase the land and house for R24000.00 and will also be given a discount of R7000.00 if purchased within a specified date. With our savings and a little help from our families we made the purchase. A few years later I approached the banks to grant me a house improvement loan which was declined .In 1999 I approached SAHL via a friend of mine who worked there and then my dreams were realised. I was given good advice by the consultant and was granted a large loan. As the years went by and improvements on my house continued I got further loans from them. I would like to say to the staff of SAHL, this would not have been possible without you guys. I now own a home with an outbuilding, consisting of 6 bedrooms, 3 toilets, 2 bathrooms, 1 shower, 2 lounges, 2 kitchens, a dining room and a double garage. My 3 sons were educated with the re-advances that SAHL gave me over the years. I now take re advances for holidays and making large cash purchases because of the low interest rates and low payments. At once stage I had nothing but because of you guys who gave me professional advice, I have an asset that my wife and I are proud of. Thank you SAHL.
